In my 12 years as a consultant, I specialized in strategic analysis and planning, operations, business development and marketing. As EyeMed’s vice president of marketing and strategy, I've led or played key roles in corporate transitions as well as with initiatives designed to drive aggressive growth.
John Lahr, OD, FAAO

I have more than 40 years of experience in eye care delivery and vision care, 19 of which have been with EyeMed. As vice president of provider relations and medical director, I'm responsible for the leadership and management of quality assurance and improvement, network development and management and all communications to network providers. I also play a role in all product development and am responsible for wellness and disease management support programs.

I joined EyeMed Vision Care in November 2013 when the health benefits industry was navigating rapid change driven by federal legislation and shifting consumer expectations. Embracing the need for change, I vowed to reinvent vision care benefits and their delivery. This focus on the right innovation helped catapult EyeMed not only to record growth and profits, but more importantly, to industry-leading member and client satisfaction. My unique hands-on experience in retail, wholesale, e-commerce, operations, lens technology and manufacturing – coupled with his drive to challenge the status quo – is well-suited to the U.S. employee benefits sector, where consumer demand for choice, transparency and convenience are driving innovation. Outside of work, I spend time on OneSight, a charity dedicated to helping people see. EyeMed is a major sponsor of OneSight, and I continue my involvement as Chairman of the Board.
