How I helped thousands of kids receive free eye care in Puerto Rico

One of the best perks of working for EyeMed is the opportunity to support OneSight, the world's leading global charity committed to eradicating the vision care crisis across the world. Since 1988 the organization has helped provided vision care to 8.5 million people. According to OneSight, there are still 563 million people worldwide in need of vision care. As big as those numbers are, they’re only numbers. Recently I got to interact with just a fraction of the people behind those numbers. I spent a week in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, where I delivered free eye care and eyewear to those in need. Through the experience, I saw first-hand how vision care—or the lack of it—makes a difference in each of our lives.
